Our Aim:
Is to ensure that your stay with us is as comfortable as possible; with that in mind, we have some guidance of items that you are encouraged to bring into treatment if you require them. Please limit what you bring to no more than two large suitcases; this is due to limited space and storage. Some of our exclusions may look unreasonable however they are there to keep all clients safe whilst they are with us and are there to reduce the risk of fire or potentially problematic substances from entering our houses.
- Minimum of 14 days’ worth of prescribed medications with their original prescription label.
- Your name must be clearly visible. It will take time for staff to obtain new medication straight away.
- Rollon deodorant – no aerosol please.
- Toothbrush and toothpaste.
- Toiletries you prefer to use such as soaps, shower gels, perfume, sun cream and moisturisers.
- Towels.
- Radio/alarmclock.
- Shaver and shaving foam/gel – no aerosol please.
- Phone/address book.
- Tobacco/cigarettes in sealed packets
- Vapes and vape juice that have been bought from a supermarket.
- Small personal items such as ornaments, cuddly toys or photos.
- Night clothes and slippers.
- Seasonal clothes and appropriate shoes.
- A tablet or mobile phone (mobile phones are kept in the office and given back to clients at certain times. This sounds harsh however mobile phones can be a distraction, keeping someone’s attention on the outside world
and maintaining both adrenaline and cortisol level as a high level).
Due to the nature of the work that we do, certain items cannot be brought onsite. We will ask you to unpack your bags in front of staff, this is to protect the whole community from items not suitable for a dependency rehabilitation centre or that may increase the risk of fire. Any items that are deemed inappropriate will be stored in a secure cupboard in the office until your departure. To avoid any disappointment on your arrival, please ensure that you do not bring any items in the list below:
- Alcohol and Alcoholbased mouthwash.
- Drug paraphernalia.
- Gambling materials (including playing cards, lottery tickets, etc.).
- Any drugs other than those you have been prescribed including over the counter medication.
- Stimulant drinks.
- Nonalcoholic versions of alcoholic drinks.
- Vitamins/ Bodybuilding protein drinks – we aim to provide you with a nutritious diet eliminating the need for supplements, except those prescribed by a doctor.
- Items of value such as passport’s, expensive jewellery, televisions, gaming consoles, desktop computers – our insurance won’t cover the cost in the event of a theft.
- Aerosols of any type – some people have been known to inhale the accelerants.
- Open drinks or food packets.
- Transport unless it’s a disability scooter.
- Weights.
- Electrical extension leads – for fire risk reasons.
Please note: Our wifi is not able to support live streaming as there is limited bandwidth that must be shared between all the wifi connected devices within the building. There is no fibre option for our broadband in this area at the moment.
