Trustees

The Board of Trustees is made up of men and women, who give their time free of charge, to monitor and guide the work of StreetScene. They visit the units on a monthly basis and make reports about what they find and meet each quarter to discuss their findings. They make recommendations about any problems they encounter or just bring suggestions based on their own experience. They listen to reports on the progress of the staff, clients and units provided by the key staff and again make suggestions to any problems we may have. They also guide the future work of the trust by critically analysing any plans brought to them. At the end of the day they are an invaluable asset to the charity, they are always there and will give a helping hand or ear whenever it is needed.

At present we have five trustees, each one bringing their own expertise.

Reverend Canon Godfrey Taylor

Godfrey is one of the original members of StreetScene. When my father and I were looking at establishing the charity I went to ask Godfrey for his support, and he immediately agreed. He has been very generous with his time and effort since that time, always ready with words of guidance, support or praise. Godfrey is supposed to be a retired vicar, however he is currently working in Cairo, until the end of February this year. He is a dynamic and charismatic character who has a natural feeling of calm about him. He brings to the board many years experience of working with people from all walks of life and in various stages of life. He has worked with using addicts and clients with mental health needs whilst Vicar of St John's Church in Boscombe.

Daphne Taylor

Daphne is Godfrey's wife. She too has had many years of dealing with people, often as a vicar's wife these have been people in times of trouble. Daphne is a very shrewd lady, who has a keen eye. She can spot items which need addressing in any of the units very quickly and be aware of how much changing these things may cost. She is very open and approachable and enjoys talking to clients during her visits.

Hazel Corner

Hazel is the wife of Dennis Corner and the Mother of Tessa. Hazel has City & Guilds qualifications in Hotel Management and Catering, and is a qualified chef. She has managed a hotel and a building company for many years. She has many years experience as the parent of a using addict as well as experience of being a parent to someone in recovery. She has also been an active member of a family support group, where she was also a board member. Hazel enjoys the hands on approach, with both clients and staff. She is well known in the organisation for her cooking, as each year she prepares the Christmas dinner for one of the units, her main ambition here is to ensure that every client is stuffed with Christmas food. She enjoys visiting the units and talking with clients and watching their progress as they go through the treatment process.
