Resettlement
Aims
The aim of the Re-settlement project is a simple one, it is to provide safe, secure, practical and supported accommodation for people who are in early recovery from addiction and have completed a rehabilitation programme.
Objectives
The objective of this scheme is to increase the numbers of people remaining abstinent from drugs and alcohol for long periods of time and assisting them in learning to deal with the practical responsibilities of successful independent living in the community.
Service
Re-settlement is funded by the governments Supporting People initiative, which is designed to support people in the community. This service has been broken down into two areas, the accommodation element and the practical support element.
The first element is to provide safe and suitable accommodation either in one of the charities properties or by the sub letting of accommodation, taken on by the charity.
The second element is concerned with the provision of staff to provide practical support in areas such as life skills, education for employment, property security, property care and financial manageability, using a planned care approach.
The second element is concerned with the provision of staff to provide practical support in the areas of property security, property care, financial manageability and understanding of rights and responsibilities of a tenant, funding provided by Supported Accommodation Housing Benefit Transitional Scheme.
We anticipate that each client will require this support for in the region of six months, although this maybe extended in special circumstances.
